UK study for trio

Torika Chandra
Friday, August 15, 2014

WATER and sanitation in Fiji and the Pacific is an issue Francis Wele is passionate about.

He has worked with the Ministry of Health as an environmental health officer and is currently with UNICEF Pacific as a Water Sanitation and Hygiene officer.

So when the opportunity to study in the UK under the Chevening Scholarship came up, Mr Wele grabbed it with both hands, counting it a dream come true.

Mr Wele is one of three recipients from Fiji of the UK Government scholarship.

He is expected to begin his Masters in Water, Sanitation and Health Engineering at the University of Leeds in September.

The other two recipients are Akanisi Nabalarua and Naeemah Khan.
