Update: 3:03PM FIJI Labour Party leader Mahendra Chaudhry's appeal on conviction and sentence has been dismissed by the Court of Appeal this afternoon.

This means Chaudhry will not be able to contest the general election.

However, the court has reduced his fine to $1million compared to the $2m fine earlier dished out by the court.

All other orders, including that to repatriate funds from overseas, remain.
