NATABUA High School under-16 team is bracing for one of its important rugby assignments at the Fiji Secondary Schools Coke Zero Deans rugby finals on Saturday.
And being the lone team in Lautoka to feature in the finals, the players were aware of the huge challenges ahead of them.
The school last won the national U16 in 2006 and the onus is on these young ruggers to repeat their 2006 feat against the tough Marist Brothers High School outfit.
Team official Sairusi Naituku said the players knew the importance of this game.
The former national rep said the players had prepared well and would save the best for the last against the Flagstaff boys.
"This is a very crucial game for the boys and they know what is expected of them," said Naituku.
"It's being long since we tasted victory at this level and the boys will do their outmost best to make the school proud.
"Marist is a very good team and we expect a very interesting clash on Saturday."
Naituku said players had been urged to use the game plan being set out for them in their quest to deliver the goods for the school.
He said the players were looking forward to the game.
Meanwhile, Naituku believes the main Deans trophy challenge between RKS and Lelean would be the climax of the final.
He said both teams knew the significance of the trophy for their schools.
"It's do or die game," the former RKS student said.
"Unfortunately, RKS will be playing without five of their key players but they know the importance of the Deans to the school.
"There are many good players in the school and they will give Lelean a tough game. The team that keeps discipline and apply the basics right will win the game."
The final will be held at Churchill Park.
