Suva restores 119-year-old landmark

Update: 2:01PM A PLAQUE to commemorate the restoration of the 119-year-old Government Referral and Information Centre, formerly the Fiji Visitors Bureau, was unveiled in Suva today.

Public Service Commission permanent secretary Parmesh Chand said a major project was undertaken to restore the building in central Suva to its original paint colour.

He said the building has great history attached to it.

The plaque was unveiled by Mr Chand and the chairman of National Trust of Fiji Robin Yarrow.
