Wheelchair friendly

ABOUT $1000 has been spent by the Lautoka Eid Mela committee to make the Girmit Centre wheelchair friendly.

Chairman Mohammed Salim said this was an initiative after the successful Eid Mela celebrations in Lautoka last weekend.

"Close to 4000 people attended and it was a great opportunity for people to come together and celebrate as one," he said.

"We have taken on the project of making the centre friendly for people suffering from disabilities.

"We will be constructing walkways in order to make the centre more accessible to all people."
