Salaseini Moceiwai
Wednesday, August 13, 2014

CARING for the less fortunate ones, youths of Lagi in Dogotuki, Macuata, have been following a trend for about seven years to help the sick, elderly and the widows in their village.

The teenagers had been planting root crops, repairing houses, cleaning the compound and engaging in other community work for the less fortunate ones in their community every Monday.

A team from this newspaper visited the village and witnessed the energetic group of young people working together to extend the home of an elderly man.

Village headman Eremasi Masivue said the initiative was a social obligation.

Mr Masivue said the initiative was mandated for all young people in the village.
