IT will be a show of the national under-20 players in the Vodafone Fiji Secondary Schools Football Championship to start this Thursday at Govind Park in Ba.

Vodafone Fiji U20 coach Ravinesh Kumar will be out scouting players who have the potential to represent the national side in the 2015 FIFA U20 World Cup in New Zealand.

Fiji Secondary Schools Football Association president Aminesh Ram said majority of the U20 reps would be featuring for their respective schools in the four-day championship.

Defending champions Drasa Secondary which has been grouped in a "pool of death" will have the services of Antonio Tuivuna and Ravnit Chand.

Saraswati College from Nausori, which is pooled with Drasa Secondary in Pool B, will have Nickel Chand, Tevita Varanivalu and Savenaca Nakalevu.

Kamil College of Ba is boosted by the inclusion of Fiji U20 stopper Misiwani Nairube and Jonacani Buksh while Nukuloa College also of Ba will have forwards Narendra Rao, Samuela Nabenia and Saula Waqa.

Labasa winner Gurunanak Khalsa College will have the services of nippy striker Ashneel Raju.

Ram said the matches in Pool B would be intense given the calibre of teams in the group.

Apart from Drasa Secondary School and Saraswati College, Labasa runner-up Naleba College, Kamil Muslim College and Nawai Secondary School are also in that pool.

"Nawai is the winner of the Nadi zone. They are one of the underdogs. It's quite surprising to see them in the championship because the school has only 150 students," Ram said.

"Fiji U20 coach Ravinesh Kumar will be there to select players for the World Cup so it will be quite exciting for these players."
