Dugu crowned Miss Ba Riverside

Update: 3:27PM XAVIER College student Makereta Dugu was crowned the Miss Digicel Ba Riverside Carnival queen on Saturday night in front of a 5000 strong crowd.

The 19-year-old Sasa Villager was overcome with emotion and thanked her sponsor the A.Jaan Group of Companies and the people of Ba for their support during the weeklong festival.

Miss Dugu said she would continue to raise awareness about the importance of traditional culture, something that was slowly being lost because of western influences on Fiji society.
