Shape your future

Torika Chandra
Saturday, August 09, 2014

YOU are young and the world is your oyster.

These were the words of the head of European Union delegation for the Pacific Andrew Jacobs as he opened the USP Open Day yesterday in Laucala Bay.

Mr Jacobs said the open day was an important day for primary and secondary school students who attended.

"Shape your future. Use everything you can find here today to help you to decide what shape you want your future to have.

"But don't make rash decisions, don't jump before you know where you're likely to land, and be sure to weigh up all your options."

Mr Jacobs encouraged the students to take charge and responsibility of their future.

"Remember that you are responsible for shaping your future, and you are in charge. Don't let others push you into a shape that you might find uncomfortable."
