Missing 16-year-old girl found, police probe case

Update: 5:25PM A 16-YEAR-OLD Tavua girl reported missing earlier this week has been found.

West police spokeswoman Naina Ragigia said: "At this moment, we can't comment on the particulars but an investigation will be carried out to determine the facts of where she was."

Meanwhile, Mrs Ragigia has urged members of the public to be vigilant with regards to the two prisoners who escaped from the Nadi Police cell block over three weeks ago.

The escapees, Deshwar Kishore Dutt and Dinesh Chand Pillay, have been associated with offences such as aggravated robberies, burglaries and theft of motor vehicles.

Mrs Ragigia said they expected a mass exodus of people in the Western Division this week as the Digicel Bula Festival and the Digicel Ba Riverside Carnival come to a close.

"We are urging people to secure their properties as we have received some complaints of break-ins from people living in Namaka, Nadi.

"Police will be monitoring the public and we ask parents to be extra mindful of their children's whereabouts."
