LOCAL designer Ali Zulfikar will feature a brand new resort wear collection in the Fiji Fashion Week Resort Show at Sofitel Denarau later this month.

Zulfikar credits his inspiration from his trips to India to purchase garments for the Tappoo Group of companies.

"Every city in India has its own story and culture and they specialise in something different from another so we try to incorporate everything in our collection," he said.

For this resort wear collection, Zulfikar said people could expect lots of colours.

And as far as fabric is concerned, he says he doesn't like using synthetics, only pure fabrics to get the flow of the garment right.

"I try to use more abstract and tie-dye prints. I love tie-dye."
