Update: 2:43PM POLICE in the north are conducting a search for a missing man in the Wainikoro waters in Macuata.

The man was reported missing during a fishing trip on Thursday this week.

Police spokesman Inspector Atunaisa Sokomuri said a team initiated the search this morning but as of now, it has not been successful.

The man left with a colleague who travelled on another boat. They were drinking grog and when his colleague woke up the next morning, the man was gone, Insp Sokomuri said.

Investigations are continuing.
