Police investigate alleged assault on referee

Update: 5:55PM POLICE have confirmed the alleged assault on a referee by two students following a secondary school U19 Tier Two semi-final match in Labasa this afternoon.

The alleged incident occurred about 5pm after All Saints Secondary School beat Navosa 9-6 at their home ground.

Police spokesman Inspector Atunaisa Sokomuri said they were investigating the matter.

The referee was treated at the hospital with minor injuries.
