Wisil misses out

Papua New Guinea sprinter Toea Wisil has narrowly missed out on a spot in the 100m final at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games.

The 26-year-old ran a season best time of 11.44 seconds in her semi-final, shaving two tenths of a second off her effort in the heats. PNG chef de mission Emma Waiwai says the team is still very proud of her achievement.

"You know making it to the semi-finals in an event in a tournament like this is something really big for us and for her to get to that stage was really good."
