THE People's Democratic Party says it will increase the country's economic growth by increasing the value of employment in high labour absorptive export and import replacement activities.

The party in its manifesto claimed Fiji's economy was characterised as an open economy and a price taker.

The manifesto outlined the party would improve and sustain Fijians' standard of living.

"To achieve this, PDP will focus on increasing domestic value added (DVA) of economic activities generated, which translates directly to the increase in the welfare of the society," the manifesto said.
