Bridge contract

Repeka Nasiko
Saturday, July 26, 2014

FIJI Roads Authority CEO Neil Cook says the construct of a new Denarau bridge is yet to be formally given to the authority.

Mr Cook said the project was not included in the funds given by the government to the authority in the 2013 National Budget.

He said the project, however, was allocated $9.4million in the 2014 National Budget.

The FRA CEO also refuted statements by Commissioner Western, Commander Joeli Cawaki that work was going to be carried out by the authority.

Mr Cook was responding to queries by this newspaper over the funding and actual construction work of the Denarau bridge.

He maintained that the work was yet to be formally handed to the authority.
