Beauty joins line-up

Shayal Devi
Friday, July 25, 2014

AN 18-year-old student has joined the Ba Riverside Carnival line-up in the hope of experiencing something new.

Salochana Devi said this was her first time in a major event or competition.

"I always held back but this time I made sure that I did not let go of this opportunity to represent Ba," the Ba Sangam College student said.

"I wanted to use this platform to meet new people, experience a different side of Ba and do something I would normally not have done.

"I guess one of the biggest challenges associated with taking part in this competition will be delivering our best to the thousands that will gather in Ba."

The second child of five siblings, Ms Devi said family support would be her biggest strength during the competition.

"I also urge all Ba citizens to come out in numbers to support us for this wonderful initiative," Ms Devi said.

The Ba Riverside Carnival will be held from August 5 to 9.
