TWENTY-year-old Jovesa Ratu Jr was awarded the baton of honour at the Montfort Boys Town passing-out parade at the school last Friday.

The lad from Nacula Village in Yasawa said receiving the baton of honour was an achievement he never expected during his time at the school.

"We never really expected to be part of the passing-out parade this year and for me to be awarded the baton of honour is indeed an accomplishment," Ratu said.

"I study building and plumbing at the school and I hope to become a soldier with the Republic of Fiji Military Forces focusing on my building skills."

His proud father witnessed the memorable occassion.
