Airline announces half-year profit of $17.2m

Update: 11:09AM FIJI'S national airline announced an underlying operating profit of $17.2million for the first six months of this year, a massive increase from the Fiji Airways Group profit of $0.5m for the corresponding period in 2013.

CEO and managing director Stefan Pichler said key drivers of the profitability included higher load factor across the whole network and increase in flying more passengers.

Minister for Civil Aviation Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum says the result is a great achievement for the airline and the nation.
