Vehicle veered off road, two in hospital

Update: 3:26PM TWO people have been admitted to the Lautoka Hospital after the vehicle they were travelling in veered off the road on Tuesday.

Police spokesman Inspector Atunaisa Sokomuri said the incident occurred near Tavakubu Rd, Lautoka.

"The vehicle was being driven by a 33-year-old conveying four passengers when the vehicle went off road," he said.

"A one-year-old and 57-year-old are currently admitted at Lautoka Hospitals Intensive Care Unit for further observation. Other passengers were treated for minor injuries and sent home."

He has called on motorists to be more alert while on the road.

"It has been experienced in the past that motorists usually get involved in accidents because they are often speeding.

"We are asking motorist to be considerate of others while driving during this time, especially children who will be making their way to school."
