EAGLES won their own volleyball knockout tournament at the Eagles Court in Raiwai yesterday.

The Raiwai club defeated Raiwaqa's X 2-1 in the final.

X and Eagles defeated Qauia Warriors and Gambling City 2-0, respectively, in the semi-finals.

Tournament co-ordinator Jim Rose said five teams turned up to compete in the event.

"We were expecting 10 teams but five wasn't a bad number considering its off season for volleyball," he said.

"We will have the knockout tournament every Saturdays until the new season starts. We are hoping to have 10 clubs every week."

Eagles after the win won $100 while X settled for $50 prizemoney.
