Efficient delivery

Salaseini Moceiwai

CANE supply to the Fiji Sugar Corporation mill in Labasa has improved as officials work closely with farmers to ensure efficient delivery and increased cane production.

Responding to questions sent by this newspaper about the shortage of supply last weekend, FSC executive chairman Abdul Khan said they experienced similar issues this week.

"The good thing is that we are all working together to improve the cane supply," Mr Khan said.

"We are working with the farmers, potential canecutters and lorry operators to mobile more people to harvest cane.

"Also, we are working on more efficient turn-around of lorries and rail trucks," said Mr Khan.
