Thousands gather to bid farewell

By TORIKA TOKALAU
Friday, July 11, 2014

Update: 12:12PM Thousands of people have travelled from all over the country to bid farewell to their great leader, the late Archbishop Emeritus Petero Mataca.

Members of the congregation have filled up the Sacred Heart Cathedral and many are seen sitting outside of the church as they solemnly observe this historic occasion.

Many can be seen sitting on the Pratt, Murray and Joske streets, which have been closed off to all traffic by police, braving the heat under an overcast day in the Capital City.
