Update: 3:31PM MAI TV has announced the departure of its general manager Marc Santos, who completes his contracted term with the television broadcaster at the end of this month.

In a statement, the company said Mr Santos had decided to return to Tonga.

Mr Santos, who had been with the company since June last year, had opted to focus on family commitments following the birth of his first child early this month.

In announcing his departure, Mai TV's executive chairman Justin Smith said Mr Santos had successfully navigated the company through one of its most challenging periods.
