Proper medical records storage

MEDICAL records dating back 10 years will have a proper storage area at the Nadi Hospital.

Nadi Hospital Board of Visitors chairman Mohammed Israr Khan said the hospital needed a new space for archived medical records.

"For medical records, the hospital needs to maintain about 10 years of records for patients," Mr Khan said.

"And at the Nadi Hospital, the archives have become so much that it needs bigger space, which is why we managed to secure a donor who was kind enough to donate a container in which we will store these archives.

"We will secure it properly and furnish it with the necessary equipment to maintain the records."

Mr Khan said the board was also looking to facilitate a visiting eye specialist from the US to conduct free clinics at the hospital.
