New apartment complex to give town a facelift

A PROMINENT Ba citizen is in the process of reshaping the landscape of Ba Town with the establishment of a new apartment complex and refurbishment of the landmark Ba Hotel.

Feroz Jan Mohammed, a director of the A Jan Group of Companies, said millions had been spent and hundreds employed during the construction works of both projects.

"The apartment complex features a unique combination of ideas with a modern take on a traditional Fijian bure and two domes which are representative of the helmets that my late father and grandfather wore," he said.

"The new Ba Hotel will be a 100-room facility and will feature an international kitchen and dining area and a roof top conference centre that will have the facilities to host more than 2000 people."

Mr Mohammed said about 400 people were involved in the construction work and 72 new jobs would be created once the complex was completed early next year.
