The workshop which will be the first of its kind to be held in the Northern Division, is organised to open opportunities for women in the North participate in the program.

WISC's official Susie Yee said the workshop would open opportunities for women who associate themselves with sporting communities, federations or associations.

"The workshop, the first to be held in the North, is being organised by WISC to help women in the Northern Division to be part of the broader programs, helping increase and improve their participation as sport administrators, leaders and individual self development," she said.

"Women and girls already involved in or are aspiring to be part of sporting committees, federations or associations, clubs and or groups, school programs, individual athletes, coaches and managers in the Northern Division will have an opportunity to participate in a women in sports leadership and administration workshop."

She said the adult-learning workshop would cover topics, why women should be leaders or administrators.

She said it would help enhance their leadership qualities, how it can be best utilised in different context, challenges to the exercise of leadership, possible solutions and way forward.

Yee added a participatory sporting event was planned to be staged on Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock.
