Sugar shipment

A TOTAL of 30,000 tonnes of sugar is expected to be shipped out of the country during the first sugar shipment early next month.

FSC executive chairman Abdul Khan said the first sugar ship was expected to arrive in August and would be loading the sugar at the Lautoka and Malau wharves.

"A total of 30,000 tonnes of sugar is expected to be shipped out in the first shipment and out of this figure, Labasa mill will be providing about 15,000 tonnes," Mr Khan said.
