Rejected dalo spark farmers' concerns

By LUKE RAWALAI
Wednesday, July 02, 2014

Update: 2:24PM FARMERS on the south end of Taveuni have voiced their concerns on the amount of rejected dalo in their farms because they do not meet the required size for export markets.

Delaivuna farmer Meli Tamanikaiwaimaro said that they did not know what to do with the rejected dalo.

Responding to these concerns, Principal Agriculture Officer North John Cox said the rejection of dalo for export because of their sizes was normal.

Mr Cox said the required dalo size for exportation was something beyond their reach as the export was determined by market expectation and demands.
