Accident driver still in custody

THE driver of a van involved in a collision which claimed the life of an 18-year-old is still in police custody.

West police media liaison officer Naina Ragigia said the 30-year-old driver was released from hospital earlier after being treated for minor injuries.

"The five passengers who were travelling in the van that collided with the twin cab remain in hospital," she said.

"We are expecting an update on their condition soon."

The vehicle the deceased was driving was heading towards Swami Vivekananda College from Malolo, Nadi, when the collision occurred.
