Election supervisor releases voter stats

Update: 7:58PM AS at April this year, a total of 554,566 voters have registered to vote in the September 17 general election.

Revealing this in Suva today, Supervisor of Election Mohammed Saneem said of the total registered voters, 282,053 were males and 272,513 were females.

Mr Saneem said the Central Division registered 230,318 voters, Eastern Division 24,178 voters, Northern Division 86,250 voters and Western Division registered 211,832 voters.

And a total of 1988 overseas voters have also been registered.

He said of the total voters, 100,960 youths from the age brackets of 18 to 25 years have also registered.
