Nauruans in court on murder charge

Update: 2:31PM FIVE Nauruan students appeared in the Suva Magistrates Court before Chief Magistrate Usaia Ratuvili charged with the murder of a Tongan student outside a Suva nightclub.

Two juveniles appeared in a closed court sitting while the three who are 19 appeared in an open court.

No plea has been taken, however, a decision on bail will be given this afternoon.

The Nauru High Commissioner has promised to act as surety.

Meanwhile, the Nauruan government has assured they will not allow any of the accused to travel back to Nauru until the case is over.
