Singh leads team

LAUTOKA Golf Club chairman of trustees Raymond Singh will lead a strong Lautoka team at the upcoming Theodore Cup competition to be held at Nadi Airport Golf Club on Sunday.

The power-pack side include former Lautoka Open champion Prem Chand, Vinod Chand, Abdul Jalal, Asish Kumar, Anthony John, Vijay Ram, and Jefrey John.

The Theodore Cup is played between the Lautoka, Ba, Nadi, Vatukoula to select the Wes team for the annual East versus West clash.

Lautoka skipper Singh said he was confident his side would do wonders during the competition.

The former Nadi Airport club captain said his side had prepared well for the event and was confident of taking out top honours against the best in the West.

"We are fielding a very strong line-up and we are confident of winning the Theodore Cup," said Singh.

"I am well-versed with the conditions and the greens being a former captain and champion of the Nadi Airport club.

"I also have faith in my fellow teammates that we will win the title for Lautoka."

Singh said the competition would be tough because all top golfers from each district would participate.

"We are confident of our chances on the other hand we also expect a tough competition from our rivals."

"It's going to be an exciting battle and we will do our best to make Lautoka proud."
