Fatal crash: 2 drivers die in separate incidents

Update: 11:15AM A MAN is now dead after the vehicle he was driving veered off the road and ended up in a creek in Serua early this morning.

Police spokesman Inspector Atunaisa Sokomuri said the incident occurred around 3am when a rental car, registration LR2669 hit a signboard and veered off the road at Korovou in Serua.

He said the man died instantly and was removed from his vehicle by residents from the area.

Mr Sokomuri said the vehicle is now at the Navua Police Station. 

* In a separate incident, a 56-year-old man who was driving a 10-wheeler truck loaded with Bauxite died after his vehicle tumbled along Vuninoko Rd in Nabouwalu Vanua Levu.

Mr Sokomuri said the man was driving towards Navutu Rd around 6.30am yesterday when he lost control of the vehicle as he was speeding.
