RENOVATIONS at the CWM Hospital should be completed by December, hospital medical superintendent Dr Jemesa Tudravu confirmed yesterday.

Dr Tudravu said the renovation work started last year.

"There is a need to upgrade the facility to meet the increasing need from high patient load," he said.

"The renovated facility is anticipated to meet the demand on hospital services now and into the next 10 to 15 years."

He said the main area under renovation were the operating theatres, intensive care unit, coronary care unit and the burns unit.

He said there were other minor renovations being carried out in other areas of the hospital.

"Services have been temporarily disturbed due to the renovations."
