Foreign media delegation visit Fiji and Tonga

AS a staff member of the All China Journalists Association, Liu Rui played host to members of the Fiji media visiting China for the first time.

Yesterday, he arrived in Fiji as part of a delegation travelling to Tonga at the invitation of the Pacific Islands News Association.

"I am so lucky as this is my first time to the Pacific," he said.

"In fact all of us have never been to this side of the world before."

The team of visiting journalists include Li Xinmin, editor-in-chief of Jilin Daily, Zhou Shikang, president of the Journalists Association of Jiangsu Province, Wu Xiulong, deputy editor-in-chief of the Farmers' Daily, Zhang Mingfei, deputy editor-in-chief of Beijing Evening News, and Miao Kegou, deputy editor-in-chief of Shanghai Wenhui Daily.

Yesterday they visited landmarks in Lautoka and were hosted to lunch by special administrator Praveen Bala.
