Woman died by hanging: Police

Update: 12:04PM POLICE have confirmed that a young girl found dead over the weekend in Naikabula, Lautoka, died of asphyxiation through hanging.

Police spokesperson Inspector Atunaisa Sokomuri said investigations into the circumstances surrounding the death were continuing.

The young woman, identified only as Asena, is alleged to have died at the home of Naikabula resident Narayan Pillay on Saturday night.

Inspector Sokomuri said a man taken in for questioning by the Lautoka Police is believed to have been released.
