THE Fiji Association of Sports and National Olympic Committee (FASANOC) have once again planned a celebration with a difference for the worldwide Olympic Day Run which will be held on Saturday at the "My Suva Picnic Park".

The Olympic Day celebration, which will feature a run and walk simultaneously in both Suva and Nadi, will also host a Sports Fair.

The Sports Fair will have a strong emphasis on promoting the educational message of physical activity and sport for healthy living.

In addition, they are inviting the Suva City Council to promote its composting initiative in a move and also advocate for a healthy environment.

They will work in collaboration with local health program providers to set up booths to promote their healthy lifestyle programs.

Sponsors Goodman Fielder route and foodservice sales manager Doreen Francis said the company was grateful to associate its local trusted brand, Crest Chicken with FASANOC.

"It is our 6th year to support FASANOC Fiji and with providing 500 children's vest and product vouchers as prizes for the Fun Run," she said.

"We are proud to be associated with an event that promotes the Olympian values of excellence, Friendship & Respect which is synonymous with our Crest brand and values.

"We encourage people to come on down and take part. We are a family brand and would like to encourage families to be part of this yearly event."

The committee is confident that with the help of their sponsors the activities delivered through this run will have ongoing benefits to both the environment and for the greater sporting community.

The sponsors of the event are Goodman Fielder and International Olympic Committee (IOC) World Wide Sponsors, Coca-Cola and McDonald's.
