Candidates call to serve

THE Social Democratic and Liberal Party has announced a strong line-up of provisional candidates for the September general election.

Party leader Ro Teimumu Kepa said they were proud of the calibre of their provisional candidates.

The Rewa chief said the people of Fiji should feel confident in the candidates, as they were "worthy representatives to look after their interests in parliament".

"Today (yesterday), they receive their commissions and call to service from SODELPA. It is a summons to national duty," Ro Teimumu said.

"They march under the SODELPA banner. But their mission is to serve all the people, all communities, and all sections of our society, wherever they live.

"For all those who applied and could not be accommodated, I say thank you for your assurances of continuing support."

She said the candidates would work towards protecting Fiji's needs.
