Service boost

THE National Fire Authority received two new ambulances on Wednesday in a bid to better its response to emergency situations.

In handing over the two vehicles, NFA chairman Commander Francis Kean said they were an important achievement for Fiji.

"Especially for the people of Serua/Nadroga/Navosa and the Ba provinces as the two ambulances will cater for the needs of our communities in these provinces since one of the ambulances will be based in Sigatoka Fire Station and one in the Ba Fire Station," Cdr Kean said.

He added that services provided by the NFA were not limited to firefighting and fire-related rescue services only but to a broader emergency management service.
