THE Arya Pratindhi Sabha of Fiji says the target area to address the issue of teenage pregnancy is in schools.

General secretary Vijendra Prakash said the issue had been going on for so long and while the family remained the centre of attention, it was important to note it had now become a national issue and not a family or community issue.

"I think we should target the schools now, we should have qualified counsellors in schools," Mr Prakash said.

"We should have school programs that will address this growing concern." Mr Prakash said another target area would be the faith-based organisations.
