Hefty jail terms for children traffickers

Update: 2:32PM LENGHTY jail sentences were dished out by the High Court in Suva to two men charged with slavery and trafficking in children.

Inoke Raikadroka a.k.a. Kiki was given 14 years each for the two counts of slavery and 16 years each for the five counts of trafficking in children.

The court made the sentence concurrent meaning he will serve only 16 years. Parole eligibility kicks in after 14 years  have been served.

Mohammed Sheefaz Sagaitu a.k.a. Margie was sentenced to 12 years for trafficking in children. He was told that he becomes eligible for parole after serving 10 years.
