'Take heed'

Shayal Devi
Saturday, June 07, 2014

MEMBERS of the public are not treating environment issues seriously.

And this is the reason issues such as pollution, littering and climate change are making headlines daily, says divisional planning officer Western Luke Moroivalu.

He said greater focus needed to be placed on educating people on the importance of sustainable growth.

"Issues such as littering, pollution and unsustainable developments are being raised and yet people do not take heed of this," he said.

"The theme for this year's World Environment Day is Raise Your Voice, not the Sea Level."
