School cricket contest begins

THE 2014 Suva Secondary Schools' cricket competition started on a positive note on Wednesday at Albert Park in Suva.

In the opening match, Nasinu Secondary School defeated the team from Ratu Sukuna Memorial School (RSMS) in the under-16 boys' category.

RSMS won the toss and elected to bat first scoring 29 runs and were all out in six overs.

Nasinu chased down the target in the eight over to claim an early lead to win the restructured Suva Secondary Schools' competition.

Yesterday, the U16 girls' competition kicked off with Adi Cakobau School taking on Ballantine Memorial School in the opening match.
