Woman found dead after night fishing trip

Update: 12:07PM POLICE say the body of a woman found along Nasese has been identified as that of 66-year-old Taraivosa Toka.

Police spokesman Inspector Atunaisa Sokomuri said the deceased, a resident of Tutaleva settlement in Laucala had gone fishing with two other women from the same settlement at 10pm.

"The two women left and waited for her at the seawall when she wanted to continue fishing," Insp Sokomuri said.

"Upon realising she was missing, they thought she has returned home. They didn't realise that she was still at sea until this morning."
