Council visit inmates

MEMBERS of the Ba Provincial Council travelled to the Lautoka Corrections Centre yesterday afternoon to visit inmates from the province.

The trip followed a request by a member who highlighted a Fiji Corrections Service report citing the province as registering the highest number of inmates in the Western Division.

A delegation from the council will also visit inmates in Namosau Centre, Ba, and the Suva Corrections Centre. On the first day of the provincial council meeting, divisional police commander West Salacieli Naivilawasa said a total of 1701 criminal offences were reported to various police stations in the Ba Province in the first five months of this year.
