JARRYD HAYNE - fullback

Age: 26

Origin games: 17

Arguably the form player in the NRL. Coach Laurie Daley has resisted the temptation to pick him at centre. The key attacking weapon for the Blues.

BRETT MORRIS - wing

Age: 27

Origin games: 9

Although his club form for St George Illawarra has been patchy, Morris is a proven top-class finisher for both state and country.

MICHAEL JENNINGS - centre

Age: 26

Origin games: 10

Class act blessed with wonderful pace, Jennings is now a premiership winner with the Sydney Roosters and forms part of a top quality centre pairing.

JOSH MORRIS - centre

Age: 27

Origin games: 8

Has been handed the unenviable task of marking Greg Inglis over the last two series and proved well up to the task. One of four Canterbury players in the side.

DANIEL TUPOU - wing

Age: 22

Origin games: 0

The giant Roosters winger makes his Origin debut at the bearpit that is Suncorp Stadium. Proved his big game temperament with fine display in last year's grand final.

JOSH REYNOLDS - five-eighth

Age: 25

Origin games: 1

Tenacious and confrontational on the field, one of the NRL's good guys away from it. Reynolds gets his first chance to cement the Blues five-eighth spot.

TRENT HODKINSON - halfback

Age: 25

Origin games: 0

A huge test for the Canterbury No.7. His kicking game is up there with the best and he's been in great touch for the Bulldogs. Level-headed enough to cope with the pressure he says he loves.

AARON WOODS

Age: 23

Origin games 2

One of the best young props in the NRL but has so far failed to replicate his Wests Tigers form in the Origin arena. Needs a big display to keep his spot in the side.

ROBBIE FARAH (capt) - hooker

Age: 30

Origin games: 8

A key man who has grown into the role of vice-captain after years of battling to break into the team. Has been one of the Blues' best performers over the last two series.

JAMES TAMOU - prop

Age: 25

Origin games: 5

Failed to hit the heights of his first year in Origin last season when he was also axed for game two following his arrest for drink-driving. Another player who needs a big series.

BEAU SCOTT - second row

Age: 30

Origin games: 5

The teak-tough, no-nonsense Newcastle back-rower returns to the side to fill the enforcer role usually filled by the suspended Greg Bird.

RYAN HOFFMAN - second row

Age: 30

Origin games: 8

Keeps his spot in the side following his return to the Blues team last year. Experienced and hard-running. Will play a key role in the back-row.

PAUL GALLEN - lock

Age: 32

Origin games: 16

Talismanic skipper who Queenslanders love to hate. For the first time in three years goes into a series without a fitness doubt hanging over his head.
