Monitoring network

THE Mamanuca Environment Society (MES) has plans to set up a turtle monitoring network with communities in their area of work, says project manager Marica Vakacola.

She said this would be possible with the help of villagers and hotels in the Mamanuca Group.

"This will be to help spread awareness about turtle conservation and grow sea turtle numbers," Ms Vakacola said.

"This project is funded by the United Nations Development Program and we are currently in the second phase of this project. We are holding consultations with the villagers and hotel managements," she said.
