Update: 4:29PM POLICE have interviewed and released an ambulance driver after the vehicle he was driving allegedly veered off the road while transporting a patient from Dreketi to Labasa Hospital.

Police spokesman Inspector Atunaisa Sokomuri this afternoon said the patient was accompanied by the parents and a nurse.

"The driver was attending to a call of emergency and along the way, the ambulance veered off the road," he said.

"The patient was rushed to the hospital while the driver was interviewed and released."
