WELLINGTON - Hurricanes hooker Dane Coles returns to the starting line-up for Saturday's Super Rugby clash against the Chiefs in Wellington.

Coles missed his first match of the season last week, a back injury keeping him sidelined as the Highlanders eked out an 18-16 win over the Hurricanes at Westpac Stadium.

Five-eighth Beauden Barrett also returns to the starting line-up after recovering from a hip injury.

In-form Hurricanes flanker Jack Lam will bring up 50 matches for the Hurricanes this weekend and says clocking a win would be an ideal way to mark the milestone.

Should Ash Dixon unfit in the coming days, Reggie Goodes will provide cover at hooker, and Mike Kainga will suit up for the first time.

Hurricanes: Andre Taylor, Cory Jane, Conrad Smith, Alapati Leiua, Julian Savea, Beauden Barrett, TJ Perenara, Victor Vito, Jack Lam, Faifili Levave, James Broadhurst, Jeremy Thrush, Jeffery Toomaga-Allen, Dane Coles, Ben Franks. Reserves: Ash Dixon/Reggie Goodes, Chris Eves, Reggie Goodes/Mike Kainga, Brad Shields, Ardie Savea, Chris Smylie, Tim Bateman, Matt Proctor/James Marshall.
